Verify your registered Hanko with the World Hanko Registration Center.

This product is for hanko owners who have registered their hanko already, and wish to request special documents confirming ownership of the stamp in question.

  • Confirm ownership of the stamp used to create your inkan impression
  • Show provenance of your unique art pieces and calligraphy
  • Provide extra documentation to verify the authenticity of your stamps for martial arts certificates
  • Request as many verification forms as you desire per request.
  • You will receive the verification forms on special copy-proof paper.

Instructions for Ordering

  1. Download the Hanko Verification Request Form
  2. Print out the form and fill it out by hand, be sure to sign and stamp the form
  3. Scan or photograph the form with your wet signature and seal on it
  4. Upload the scanned registration form using the “upload” button to complete your registration.
  5. Optional: Upload a scan or photo of photo ID (only photo and name need to be visible)
  6. Complete your order

  • *Name

    Please enter your name as it appears on your official identification. This field should match the name on your printed registration form.

    Registration Number

    Please enter your Hanko Registration Number. You should have received this number upon completion of registration, please check your e-mail or the backside of your Registration Request Card. If you cannot remember or find your registration number, additional verification may be required.

    Passcode/Passphrase

    Please enter your personal passcode or phrase, between 4 and 20 characters, that you set at the time of registration. If you cannot remember or if your passphrase is incorrect, additional verification may be required.

    *Upload Stamped Registration Form

    Please download the Hanko Verification Request Form, sign and use your hanko to stamp it, and upload a scan or clear photo of your stamped and signed registration form. If you are unable to upload this file here, we will contact you by e-mail to complete your request.

Description

If you have registered your inkan trough the World Hanko Registration Center (WHRC), you can use this form to request verification cards. Our process is similar to the multi-factor authentication local Japanese governments use to register and verify name stamps (called “Jitsu-in”) for the most important official documents and large transactions an individual can sign. This product is per sheet of verification documents that we will send to you. If you require multiple sheets, please increase the quantity selector.

The World Hanko Registration Center is a private entity, and is not a governmental agency. We do not claim the same level of authority as a municipal office. Registering with us does not confer the official status of jitsu-in to your hanko in Japan; you will still need to register with your local municipality if you need a jitsu-in.

The maximum liability of any claim against the veracity of a WHRC certificate is the value of the registration itself: 3,000 Japanese yen.

To avoid abuse of the Hanko Registration System, we are only able to register hanko purchased directly from Hanko Square online, or Hankoya21 stores in Japan. Only the original owner may register their hanko.
