Description
The main ingredients in this premium paper are potato hemp and mulberry. It is a tough and easy-to-draw-upon paper that goes well with natural mineral pigments (iwaenogu) and is suitable for recoating. The fibers of the potato hemp are unique in that the fibers have a peculiar “waviness”, and the overlapping fibers have gaps, which makes the paper look like felt. It uses a strong fiber mulberry to fill the gap, which requires great amount of experience and skill.
Kochi Paper is used in various fields such as shrines, temples, auditoriums, dedication paintings, and traditional Japanese paintings. Comes in a wide variety of dimensions and thicknesses (standards) depending on preference and use.
